Frequently Asked Questions about Tubing
Q: Do I need to wear shoes tubing?
A: Yes. For one the gravel trail you walk up to tube can be hard on the feet, but even if you have tough feet the potential exist for glass and other unfriendly items to be on the bottom of the creek. So JJ's highly recommends wearing foot protection.
Q: Where do I leave my car?
A: Unfortunately the National Park doesn't allow any shuttle service from tube rental businesses. No worries, JJ's employs the worlds most renowned rope masters who, legend claims, have the ability to tie an infinite amount of tubes to any vehicle. All jokes aside, we have been doing this a long time and will quickly and effectively secure your tubes for your tubing adventure.
Q: Is tubing safe for young kids?
A: We get questions like "will my 4 year old be safe tubing" a lot. We believe tubing is a rather safe adventure when equipped with the right information. The creek is divided into 2 sections, with one having more rapids and dips than the other. We recommend small kids stay off the more adventurous section, at least the first couple trips. Also, we recommend parents take a tether (which we will provide free of charge) with them to tether their tube to their young child's tube. Otherwise, the lighter child will go down the creek without their parents because they will travel much faster. Some parents even ride their small child in the tube with them.
Q: What should I wear on the creek?
A: A better question would be "what shouldn't I wear when tubing?" The answer, don't wear anything outside of typical water wear that you don't want to lose. Local boys love to snorkel and find rings, sunglasses, and watches. They seem to find a lot and even last year a friend of ours found a diamond engagement ring a renter had lost. We got the ring back to the renter, but it is very rare this happens.
Q: Why should I pick JJ's Deep Creek Tubes?
A: There are several choices on the creek now and it seems like a new tube rental business is opening every year. JJ's Deep Creek Tubes believes in treating people the right way and always going the extra mile to make sure our customers enjoy their tubing adventure. The foundation of our business is repeat customers, so we believe we must be doing something right.
